The work of Elain Aaron about HSP and Judith Orloff about Empath helped me to learn that I am not the only one who ‘feel the world’ and having a strong connection with nature and spirituality.
This makes it easy for me to really make contact with people and that people quickly feel at ease with me. I have always liked to listen to people, what concerns them, what they encounter, what makes them happy.
A lot of feeling in a world in which ratio predominates is a plus but not always easy, especially if you tend to adapt to the world around you. I learnt how to balance myself, how to clear emotions and return to inner serenity.
There was also the moment to decide that I want to share my knowledge and passion. I started my counselling practice in the Netherlands in 2014.
I have learned to make choices and move on to do what is good for me. Little steps became big steps and in 2017, my husband and I moved to Ireland We live and work in nature and I started my counselling practice Spiral of Life.
Style of work
I like to use conversation techniques interspersed with creative exercises to reflect on life events and invite clients to discover and express what they experience in their body and mind in a clear and respectful way.
I get inspiration from nature rituals and rites of passage from ancient cultures. Our ancestors know the value of these things.
In modern times, we are used to ‘keep going’ on as soon as possible and forget live events. But what is the effect of that in our lives?
Connect with nature, seasons and the wheel of the year makes me complete.

2016 Advanced Diploma in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) (Certificate)
Druid grade member of the Order of Bards Ovates and druids (OBOD)

As an accredited counsellor since 2014, I’ve had the opportunity of working with a very diverse client group.
I got valuable experience while working as a social worker in cases of domestic violence. That was in a new style shelter ‘het Oranjehuis’ (The Orange house).
